Shop Dermatologically Tested
“Dermatologically Tested” is a term thrown around a lot within the cosmetics space. But what does it actually mean when products are claimed to be dermatologically tested? Derm’ testing assesses a product's potential to cause irritation on the skin and/or scalp, conducted by an independent lab on a large group of study participants.
If a product is dermatologically tested, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the product is suitable for sensitive skin. However, more often than not, if a product is highly irritating, as concluded in the report, companies will pull that product from the range – but you can’t always be sure! That’s why we’ve listed a snippet of the conclusion from the report below for you to read yourself.
Our Sensitive Shampoo, Sensitive Conditioner and Intense Repair Hair Mask each came back with a conclusion that "none of the fifty-four (54) participants had any erythema (abnormal redness of the skin due to irritation) or irritant responses to any of the test products or negative control." Amazing results!
Why haven’t we tested the rest of the range? Dermatological testing is expensive! We’ll continue to test the rest of the range as and when we can.
